TINA MEAGHER

I am a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 20 years  experience. Having qualified from City University with a BSc (hons) in Clinical Communication Studies, I have worked with both adults and children across a range of needs.  In the recent past, I have managed a team of speech and language therapists and occupational therapists within a nationally recognised school for young people with SLCN.  My main areas of specialism are working with young people with Developmental Language Disorders (DLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). I have also been part of different research projects and my research on interview skills has been published in the International Journal of Language and communication Disorders.  My interest in training means that I am an ELKLAN accredited tutor and have extensive experience in developing bespoke training to meet a range of needs. I enjoy the challenge of problem solving and developing solutions to language and communication difficulties with young people and supporting them to have a voice, a future!

NICKY MASTERSON

I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1990 and for the past 29 years I have worked with young people of all ages, with all sorts of needs and in all sorts of places. From England to Australia, and back. From cities to the outback and everywhere in between. For the past fifteen years I have worked in a specialist residential school providing intensive and ongoing therapy and support to young people and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team. I have specialised in working with young people who have speech, language and communication needs linked to Developmental Language Disorder, Autism Spectrum Condition and Selective Mutism. I feel very privileged to have spent so much of my therapy life working directly with young people, especially through their teenage years in education and during the challenging transition to young adulthood, the workplace and the wider world.
I am looking forward to finding creative ways to try and make therapy available to more young people. I have an ongoing commitment to helping develop understanding and supportive communities for young people with speech language and communication needs.
